From the M1 (north or south)

Exit the M1 at junction 28 and follow signposts to Matlock. From Matlock, follow the A6 north towards Bakewell. A mile after Rowsley, take the left turn on the B5056 signposted to Youlgrave. Follow this road through Alport and into Youlgrave. On entering the village, go 100 yards past the church and, just before the Bulls Head pub, turn left into Barnes Lane. Barnes Cottage is the last cottage on the right, before the farm gate.

From the north-west

Follow the A6 through Buxton and Bakewell towards Matlock. Shortly after passing Haddon Hall on your left, turn right on to the B5056, signposted Youlgrave. Follow this road through Alport and into Youlgrave. On entering the village, go 100 yards past the church and, just before the Bulls Head pub, turn left into Barnes Lane. Barnes Cottage is the last cottage on the right, before the farm gate.

From the south west

Use the A38 to head north, through Burton and towards Derby. Just after the University of Derby, take the A6 through Belper and Matlock Bath. Stay on the A6 north through Matlock, towards Bakewell. A mile after Rowsley, take the left turn on the B5056 signposted to Youlgrave. Follow this road through Alport and into Youlgrave. On entering the village, go 100 yards past the church and, just before the Bulls Head pub, turn left into Barnes Lane. Barnes Cottage is the last cottage on the right, before the farm gate.

It is easiest to drive forwards into the yard to park. To exit, reverse back up the lane, then go down into the farmyard to turn around.
